1. Claim Processing: Accurately review, analyze, and process medical claims and invoices according to established guidelines and procedures. This involves verifying patient information, medical codes, and insurance details to facilitate timely reimbursement.
2. Insurance Verification: Verify patients' insurance coverage and eligibility to determine the extent of their benefits and coverage for medical services rendered. Collaborate with insurance providers to resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the verification process.
3. Coding and Billing: Assign appropriate medical codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services using standard coding systems such as ICD-10 and CPT. Ensure compliance with coding regulations and guidelines to maximize reimbursement and minimize claim denials.
4. Billing Follow-up: Conduct follow-up activities on outstanding claims and unpaid invoices to expedite payment processing. Communicate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to resolve billing inquiries, discrepancies, and payment issues promptly.
5. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all billing transactions, correspondence, and interactions. Update patient accounts, billing databases, and electronic health records (EHR) systems with relevant information to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
6. Compliance and Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all relevant healthcare laws, regulations, and compliance standards, including HIPAA regulations, to safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality. Stay informed about industry updates and changes to billing practices to ensure compliance with evolving requirements.
7. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries, payment arrangements, and account resolutions. Address any concerns or complaints in a professional and empathetic manner to maintain positive relationships and satisfaction.
8. Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, administrative staff, and billing departments, to streamline processes, resolve issues, and achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

• Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent qualification required. Additional certification or training in medical billing and coding is preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in medical billing, healthcare administration, or related field is advantageous but not mandatory. Freshers are encouraged to apply.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using billing software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Familiarity with medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT) and billing practices is desirable.
