Key Responsibilities:

2. Billing and Coding: Assign appropriate medical codes (e.g., CPT, ICD-10) to procedures and diagnoses according to industry standards. Review medical records to extract relevant information for billing purposes.
3. Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility, coverage details, and pre-authorization requirements. Communicate effectively with insurance companies to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
4. Payment Posting: Post payments and adjustments received from insurance companies or patients into the billing system accurately. Reconcile accounts and follow up on any outstanding balances or denials.
5. Follow-up and Appeals: Monitor unpaid claims and follow up with insurance companies to ensure timely reimbursement. Prepare and submit appeals for denied or underpaid claims, providing necessary documentation and supporting evidence.
6. Customer Service: Respond to inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding billing and insurance-related matters. Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
7. Compliance: Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing medical billing and privacy (e.g., HIPAA). Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Qualifications:

• Educational background in healthcare administration, medical coding, or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Proficiency in medical coding systems (e.g., CPT, ICD-10) and billing software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Prior experience in medical billing or healthcare administration is preferred but not required for fresher candidates.
