Job Description:

As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of library operations, ensuring efficient functioning and exceptional service delivery. Your duties will include:

2. Reader Services: Assisting patrons in locating resources, providing reference services, and offering guidance on library policies and procedures. Creating a welcoming environment conducive to study and research.
3. Collection Development: Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and acquire relevant materials to enhance the library's collection. Monitoring usage patterns and trends to inform procurement decisions.
4. Information Literacy: Conducting orientation sessions and workshops to promote information literacy skills among patrons. Assisting users in developing effective research strategies and utilizing electronic resources.
5. Administrative Tasks: Overseeing circulation activities, including issuing library cards, managing loan transactions, and processing returns. Maintaining accurate records of library holdings, transactions, and user data.
6. Technology Integration: Staying abreast of emerging technologies and trends in library automation. Implementing digital initiatives to enhance access to electronic resources and expand virtual services.
7. Collaboration: Collaborating with colleagues and external stakeholders to organize events, exhibitions, and outreach programs. Participating in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science from a recognized institution.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in library management software and digital tools.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Prior experience in a library or related field is desirable but not mandatory for fresher applicants.
