Lab Technician

Job Description:
As a Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in our healthcare facility by performing various laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Sample Collection and Processing: Collecting specimens from patients, such as blood, urine, and tissue samples, and ensuring proper labeling and storage. Processing samples according to established protocols and maintaining accurate records of all specimens received.
- Conducting Tests: Performing a wide range of laboratory tests, including hematological, biochemical, microbiological, and immunological assays, using automated equipment and manual techniques. Ensuring that all tests are conducted accurately and efficiently, and adhering to quality control standards.
- Data Analysis: Analyzing test results and interpreting findings to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating patients. Reporting abnormal findings promptly and accurately, and collaborating with medical staff to ensure appropriate follow-up actions.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments in proper working condition by performing regular maintenance and calibration procedures. Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and coordinating repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhering to all relevant regulatory guidelines and safety protocols to maintain a safe and compliant working environment. Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensuring that all laboratory activities are conducted in accordance with best practices and ethical standards.
- Documentation and Reporting: Documenting all laboratory procedures, test results, and other relevant information accurately and comprehensively. Generating reports and maintaining records in electronic and paper formats as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred but not required. Freshers are encouraged to apply.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and laboratory information systems (LIS).
