Key Responsibilities

Virtual Infrastructure Management

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter Servers.
• Oversee daily operations of virtual machines, including provisioning, configuration, cloning, and decommissioning.
• Optimize VM performance and ensure high availability across clusters using DRS, HA, and vMotion.

Automation & Monitoring

• Design and implement automation using PowerCLI and other scripting tools.
• Establish proactive monitoring solutions using tools like vRealize Operations and Nagios.
• Collaborate on system health dashboards and automate incident response procedures.

Security & Compliance

• Enforce role-based access control (RBAC), patching policies, and secure configurations aligned with industry standards.
• Participate in audits and maintain documentation for ITIL compliance.
• Safeguard infrastructure with regular vulnerability scans and remediation protocols.

Backup & Recovery

• Manage and test backup solutions using Veeam or similar technologies.
• Conduct regular recovery drills to validate restore strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive disaster recovery documentation and runbooks.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing VMware infrastructures in enterprise environments
• Proven expertise in vSphere 6.x or later
• Deep understanding of virtualization concepts, VM snapshots, and storage provisioning
• Proficiency in PowerShell or PowerCLI scripting
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs
• Familiarity with cloud-hosted environments such as AWS EC2 and VMware Cloud on AWS
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV) certification preferred
• Strong communication and documentation skills
