Remote Senior DevOps Engineer

Introduction: Lead Innovation in a Scalable Cloud Ecosystem

Are you ready to design and manage infrastructure that scales with speed, security, and resilience? We are looking for a Remote Senior DevOps Engineer who thrives on solving complex problems, automating everything, and driving performance in a cloud-native environment. With an annual salary of $135,000, this opportunity is tailored for DevOps professionals who are passionate about innovation, continuous improvement, and a remote-first culture. You’ll help build robust CI/CD pipelines, manage microservices at scale, and enhance system reliability using state-of-the-art DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities: Architect, Automate, and Elevate

Infrastructure & Automation

  • Design and implement scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Pulumi
  • Maintain and enhance Kubernetes clusters across AWS and GCP
  • Automate provisioning, monitoring, and alerting with Ansible, Prometheus, and Grafana

CI/CD Optimization

  • Own end-to-end pipeline design for automated build, test, and deployment
  • Integrate Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI/CD into development workflows
  • Minimize deployment downtime and lead zero-downtime deployments using blue-green or canary releases

Security & Monitoring

  • Apply DevSecOps principles to enforce compliance and security best practices.
  • Conduct threat modeling and apply security hardening in cloud environments
  • Monitor real-time performance metrics and implement anomaly detection algorithms

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with developers, SREs, and QA engineers to enhance release cycles and decrease incident rates.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in DevOps, guiding junior engineers and contributing to architectural decisions
  • Facilitate post-incident reviews and root cause analyses with actionable insights.

Work Environment: Distributed, Agile, and Empowered

This is a 100% remote DevOps role designed for engineers who perform best in a distributed environment. Our teams communicate asynchronously and iterate rapidly using Agile methodologies. You’ll attend daily standups, participate in virtual sprint reviews, and collaborate via tools like Slack, Notion, and Jira.

We foster a blameless culture where experiments are encouraged, and learning from failure is part of the journey. Engineers are trusted to make autonomous decisions while maintaining visibility through documentation and reporting.

Tools and Technology: Modern Stack for Maximum Velocity

  • Cloud Providers: AWS, GCP, Azure
  • Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
  • IaC Tools: Terraform, Pulumi
  • CI/CD Tools: GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins
  • Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog
  • Languages: Python, Bash, Go (for automation and scripting)
  • Version Control: Git

You’ll also get exposure to GitOps methodologies, service meshes (Istio), and progressive delivery tools like ArgoCD and Flux.

Required Qualifications: The DevOps Mindset

  • 5+ years of professional DevOps or SRE experience
  • Hands-on expertise with container orchestration using Kubernetes
  • Proven track record with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, or Shell
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD processes and release automation
  • Familiarity with security best practices in production environments
  • Strong analytical thinking and a forward-looking mindset focused on driving innovation

Preferred Qualifications: Go Beyond the Basics

  • Experience in a multi-cloud environment
  • Knowledge of cost-optimization strategies in cloud computing
  • Familiarity with observability tools beyond logging and metrics (e.g., OpenTelemetry)
  • Contributions to open-source DevOps projects
