What You'll Be Creating as a Manga Illustrator

Artistic Freedom Within Structure

Who Are You as a Candidate

Core Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in manga illustration, comics, or visual storytelling
• Strong portfolio showcasing sequential art, panel transitions, and character emotions
• Mastery in inking, shading, screen tones, and lighting effects
• Deep knowledge of manga pacing, scene tension, visual grammar, and thematic clarity
• Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating quickly with an open mind
• Versatility in illustrating across a wide range of themes and tones while retaining emotional authenticity

Additional Preferred Skills

• Experience in motion graphics, animation layouts, or visual novel interfaces
• Proficiency in genre switching (romance, horror, adventure, etc.)
• Familiarity with Japanese pop culture, trends, and visual aesthetics
• Reading proficiency in Japanese for reference sourcing (a plus, not mandatory)
