Remote Kubernetes Developer

Description

Remote Kubernetes Developer

Join a Mission-Driven Tech Collective

If you're a cloud-native enthusiast with a flair for orchestration and a passion for tackling infrastructure at scale, this is your moment. We’re on the hunt for a Remote Kubernetes Developer who thrives in decentralized environments, crafts rock-solid containers, and builds the backbone of tomorrow’s internet. This isn’t just a job — it’s a call to shape the next generation of cloud services with a team that’s bold, distributed, and fanatically focused on innovation.

Our Story: Innovation with Intent

We started as a small team scattered across time zones, united by a single question: What if cloud infrastructure were as agile as code? Since our first Kubernetes node was deployed in a living room lab, we've evolved into a fully remote team powering microservices, container pipelines, and mission-critical applications for clients across fintech, edtech, and open-source communities. Our DNA is open, scalable, and built to empower engineers at every level.

Role Overview: Architecting Resilience and Scale

As our Kubernetes Developer, you’ll engineer solutions that automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring. You’ll work on resilient systems, turn complexity into elegance, and write infrastructure code that sings. From building Helm charts to integrating service meshes and managing CI/CD flows — your day will be a mix of coding, troubleshooting, and creating systems that rarely, if ever, go down.

Key Responsibilities

Orchestration Excellence

  • Design and optimize Kubernetes clusters tailored for high availability and low latency
  • Implement namespaces, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and network policies to secure and segment workloads.

CI/CD Automation

  • Create GitOps-friendly CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD, Tekton, or similar tools.
  • Automate testing and deployment workflows to enable fast, safe shipping

Containerization Leadership

  • Define Docker image standards and optimize build pipelines
  • Maintain reproducible development environments using container-based stacks

Observability & Monitoring

  • Configure Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd, and OpenTelemetry for full-stack visibility
  • Build alerting strategies that minimize noise and highlight root issues

Infrastructure Security

  • Integrate Kubernetes-native security tools like Kyverno or OPA
  • Automate secrets management with Vault or external secrets operators

Tools and Technologies

We’re tech-agnostic but bleeding-edge curious. Expect exposure to tools like:

  • Kubernetes, Helm, Kustomize, Istio, Linkerd
  • Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane
  • GitHub Actions, Jenkins X, Drone
  • AWS, GCP, Azure (multi-cloud welcome!)
  • Elasticsearch, Loki, Jaeger, Thanos

Candidate Profile

Detail-Oriented Innovator

You’ve built, broken, and rebuilt clusters in production. You know when to autoscale, when to cordon, and when to just plain delete and start fresh.

Technically Grounded

You hold a strong foundation in cloud-native concepts, Linux fundamentals, and infrastructure-as-code. You know how things work — and more importantly, why they fail.

Collaborative and Communicative

You thrive in async communication, enjoy sprint planning, and can break down complex topics in ways your grandma and the CTO could understand.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years in cloud infrastructure or DevOps roles, with at least 2 in Kubernetes-focused environments
  • Proficiency in YAML, shell scripting, and at least one high-level language (Go preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Helm, Prometheus, and service meshes
  • Familiarity with secure container lifecycle management
  • Experience in fully remote teams and comfort with distributed collaboration tools

Remote Work Culture

We are a remote-first, time-zone-flexible, and outcome-oriented team. Whether you're in a city apartment, countryside cottage, or beachside bungalow, we believe your best work shouldn't depend on your location. We embrace async workflows, regular virtual stand-ups, deep work sessions, and trust-driven autonomy.

Perks and Compensation

  • 💰 Annual Salary: $162,000
  • 🌍 Work from anywhere
  • 🧠 Stipends for learning, home office upgrades, and tech conferences
  • 🧘‍♂️ No micromanagement — just high-trust, high-impact work
  • 🚀 Work on systems that power millions, with real room to scale

Apply Now: Build the Cloud of Tomorrow

This isn’t a legacy-support gig. This is an opportunity to disrupt how teams deploy, scale, and secure software globally. If you’re obsessed with uptime, passionate about container orchestration, and ready to take Kubernetes to the next level, we want to hear from you.

Ready to Make an Impact?

Your clusters will outlast trends. Your pipelines will ship dreams. Your code will keep services alive in the face of chaos. Sound fun? Then it's time to join the movement. Click apply and let’s build the next wave of scalable infrastructure — together, from wherever you are.
