About the Role:

As a Librarian, you will play a pivotal role in curating, organizing, and managing our extensive collection of books, periodicals, and digital resources. Key Responsibilities:

1. Collection Development: Select, acquire, and catalog materials that align with the interests and needs of our diverse community of readers. Stay updated on emerging literary trends and recommend new acquisitions to enhance our collection.
2. Reference Services: Provide personalized assistance to patrons in locating information, conducting research, and utilizing library resources effectively. Offer guidance on citation formats and research methodologies as needed.
3. Reader Engagement: Foster a culture of reading and lifelong learning through engaging outreach initiatives, book clubs, and literary events. Collaborate with local schools, community groups, and cultural organizations to promote literacy and library services.
4. Technical Management: Oversee the maintenance and organization of our library's integrated library system (ILS), including cataloging, circulation, and inventory management tasks. Troubleshoot technical issues and liaise with IT support for system updates and enhancements.
5. User Experience: Ensure that our library space is well-maintained, organized, and conducive to learning. Implement user-friendly policies and procedures to enhance the overall patron experience, including efficient checkout processes and comfortable reading areas.
6. Digital Literacy: Support patrons in navigating digital resources, online databases, and e-books. Provide basic instruction on digital literacy skills, such as internet browsing, database searching, and using library-specific online platforms.
7. Community Outreach: Act as a liaison between the library and the surrounding community, promoting awareness of our services and resources through marketing campaigns, social media engagement, and public presentations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field (for experienced candidates).
